Denver FINRA Arbitration Attorney

Securities fraud matters typically have one route for reaching a resolution, arbitration. This happens because most broker/investor agreements contain a clause requiring arbitration for any type of investment dispute. This means that all fraudulent schemes and securities matters must be solved through alternate dispute resolutions and outside of the courtroom.

At Hutchinson Law Firm LLC, we stand up for the interests of those who have been victims of securities fraud, including stock fraud, investor fraud, investment adviser fraud, elder fraud and more. Our Denver FINRA arbitration lawyer understands the tactics that need to be used in negotiations and will make certain that your best interests are represented at all times.

Mr. Hutchinson recently won a $5 million settlement for his client in a case involving insufficient disclose of an investment.

The Arbitration Process

Securities fraud matters are started when the attorney files a claim on behalf of the victim. The claim is administered, and assigned to be heard in one of the eight regional offices throughout the U.S., by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). This was formerly the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD). The hearing is approximately one year from the initial filing. Here are some the important things you need to know about:

  • Timeline for filing claim: Usually, there is a statute of limitations that applies to a case. Usually, the statute of limitations is either two or three years. In matters involving cover-up on the part of the broker or investment firm, deadlines may not apply. Either way, seeking assistance from a lawyer as soon as possible is important.
  • Getting your money back: A claim must be successful in order for the victim to legally recover funds from losses. We have extensive experience helping a wide range of clients secure successful settlements through arbitration. We know how to develop a strategy that will likely achieve the best outcome and will fully protect your interests.
  • Seek representation immediately: While FINRA may examine your complaint, they will likely not take legal action to get your money back. A lawyer can promptly examine your claim and advocate for your interests in arbitration.
